This year
Cork Cat Club
are introducing a new section for
Pedigree Pets. These classes are designated for the
"in-between" cats that are registered pedigree but for one
reason or another do not fully comply with the Standard of Points.
By including this category we hope to bring more cats and
cat enthusiasts into the world of showing, without any impact on
the Pedigree
and
Household pet Sections.
Definition:
A
Pedigree Pet is a registered pedigree cat that does not
completely fulfil the requirements of the Standard of points for
its particular breed. It may have a small fault that would prevent
it from winning an award in a Pedigree class, such as wrong eye
colour, incorrect bite, wrong markings or a tail kink. It will
enter under its pet name only, BUT registration number
(non-active) MUST BE PUT on the entry form to prove the cat
qualifies as Pedigree.
Requirements for entry are as follows:
- Full
Pedigree
-
Registered with GCCFI
-
Non-Active Register only
-
Neutered if shown after 6 month old
-
Transferred and registered in owner's name.
The
Pedigree Pets will be Judged simply as pet cats, by their
general appearance, condition and temperament. They will not gain
titles but their Best Exhibit will be placed on the Best in Show
table along with the Best Household Pet. They will not be eligible
for Overall Best in Show.
